It is a strength to reach out for support and begin working on change and growth

Finding a good fit between therapist and client is very important in creating a positive therapy experience.  People typically seek therapy when they feel stuck in their lives, or when they find themselves repeating patterns that are not constructive. It is a strength to reach out for support and begin working on change and growth.  It is said no one succeeds alone, although it is not easy to take the necessary risk involved in finding support.

Therapy is a unique experience. It is different than talking to a family member or friend. I am committed to providing a safe place where people can reflect on thoughts, feelings, experiences, and issues that may feel challenging to discuss.  As a trusting relationship develops, people often feel more comfortable delving into issues at a deeper level. Links between the present and past can be understood, which helps free people up to make positive choices in their lives. People often have not received adequate guidance or support needed to make positive changes and build lives where they can truly thrive.

It is hard to explain exactly how therapy works because it is largely experiential.  It is an investment in improving the quality of your relationships: with family members, friends, and most importantly with yourself.
