About Me

I have been a licensed psychologist in the state of Minnesota since 1994.  I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver (1992).  I completed my training at the University of Minnesota Medical School Psychology Consortium.  I have worked at a variety of clinics and medical settings including Washburn Child Guidance Clinic, North Psychology Clinic, and Regions Clinic.  In the past, I served on the Ethics Committee of MPA (2012-2015).

I am experienced in working with a wide variety of clients who are working on moving forward in their lives. Most often people attend weekly sessions.   Through active listening, reflective questioning, and ongoing dialogue, relevant themes and issues begin to emerge.  People typically talk about what is significant to them, often including dreams and memories that are helpful to integrate into one’s life story. Whether working with individuals with anxiety and mood disorders, relationship problems in couples, or challenges with empowerment in general, I have enjoyed being a resource and a partner in healing in a variety of ways.  I have also gained experience working with individuals seeking to overcome trauma and addictive behaviors, and understanding the connection and interplay between these two conditions.

I am currently an advanced candidate at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis, where I receive continued training with internationally renowned experts in the field.
